For years I've been attracted to the 'rock and roll' side of business, liking the press attention, fame etc. I decided that I would like to do more film/TV work with our hot air balloon business. I then had a call from an agency looking for a female pilot for the new Land Rover Ad - flying a cloud hopper balloon, a 'James Bond' type balloon with no basket. Just harness, gas tank and burner.
I was interviewed and got the part of stunt double for the actress whose face you would see in the Ad. When this opportunity arose I was very nervous, my health had been poor and I would be away from my family for two weeks filming in Canada - would I cope with the difficult flying ? Alivia supported me through this and I went to Canada feeling confident (but my true size) and knowing that I would just do my best. With this clear perspective I loved all the film work (even being up all night on top of a multi-storey car park!). It was a truly remarkable journey, in every sense, one that will stay with me for the rest of my life.
